Eavan Boland (natural 1944) is an Irish poet and editor.

Boland was innate within Dublin. Her father was the career diplomat & she was educated around London and New York as well as within her native Dublin; graduating from either Trinity College.

Eavan Boland's foremost books, "The War Horse" (1975),Within Her Have Image (1980) and Nighttime Feed (1982), established her reputation as the writer on the ordinary lives of women & on the difficulties faced by women poets within a male-dominated literary globe.

Boland's publications too include: An Origin Such as A river: Gathered Verse form 1967-1987 (1996), Outside History: Selected Poems 1980-1990 (1990) and the prose memoir Lesson: A Life of a Woman & the Poet within My Instance (1995). Her collection Within the Period of Violence (1994) received a Lannon Award & was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Poetry Prize. Completely of her volumes of poetry stand been Poetry Book Society Options.

Boland has taught at the total of universities, including Trinity College, Dublin. She was as well writer around home at Tinity College, Dublin, and at the National Maternity Hospital. She is presently the prof of English at Stanford University and is married with deuce girl.
